World Cruise 2025 – CABO SAN LUCAS HERE WE COME

So here we go, sailing in the Pacific Ocean! We have four days at sea before arriving at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Sea days are filled with many choices of activities. The morning deck quoits session was interrupted by dolphins spotted on the starboard side of the ship.

There are talks each day on many subjects including ports we are due to visit. Also on board are guest speakers, Dr Tony Waltham, a geologist, Janet Skinner, a victim of the Post Office scandal and Tristram & Orlando Elmhirst talking about Fingerprints as an ultimate forensic tool.

On the ship there is an award system for staff. The Shine Awards. These are to recognise and reward the shining stars that serve us in so many ways. Guests are able to fill out nomination cards and post them in a box at reception. Each month nominees are recognised with prizes and rewards.

There are many paintings and art pieces around the ship and as we are using the stairs not the lifts we are seeing some over and over again. I now have my favourite! It’s by Archibald Dunbar McIntosh (He deserves to be famous with such a bold name) It’s title is Night Sailing -Outward Bound.

Also as you use the stairs you know if you are forward, mid ship or aft by the colour of the carpet and the carpets by the lifts are a beautiful design, also matching the colours of the stair carpets.

Wednesday 2nd January and we sailed in to Cabo San Lucas, a resort on the southern tip of Mexico’s Bala California peninsula. Playa El Mẽdano is Cabo’s main beach. Past the marina is Lands End with Playa del Amor (Lover’s Beach) and El Arco a natural archway in the sea cliffs. We had a boat ride out to sea and the views were great. We saw a whale, seals and many pelicans too.

We then had a coach trip up to a hotel on the opposite side of the bay with wonderful photo opportunities. Back into town and a stroll around the marina showed us what a busy place it really was.

Another amazing dinner with beautiful wine and all is good!
Desserts so pretty but quickly demolished.

Don’t be that person who is too busy when you are young and then too tired when you are old.

Take care, Carol & Andy.
