The journey to our next campsite was a short one, less than 2 hours. We were driving towards the foothills of the Pyrenees and the scenery was changing so quickly. We paid the tolls to go through 2 long tunnels through the mountains, they were each about 3 miles long. The journey was straight forward and we soon reached Ax les Thermes and Camping Le Malazeou. The receptionist was very cheerful and welcoming and we were soon on our pitch and set up.

The sun was shining but as soon as it went behind the mountain you realised you were up in the Pyrenees as it was very chilly. The site has pet rabbits and they are free to roam around.
We woke up the next morning to blue skies and mountains, what a lovely sight. After breakfast we went for a walk into town along the River l’Ariege. Andy was taking photos all the way. It was market day and we browsed around the stalls. I even bought a jumper 😀
Ax les Thermes has sulphurous hot springs, in fact over 60 of them!! There are places around town to sit and soak your feet in this water. So we had to give it a go and the water is definitely hot 😍
Stamps bought and postcards posted, we strolled around town in the sun until we found somewhere to enjoy a lovely cold beer 🍺 🍺
Once back at the caravan we decided to go and find the ski resort. Along a very winding road up and around the mountain we found the Ax 3 Domaines winter sports resort. It was quite a sight even though there wasn’t any snow 🙁🙁
It was as though it was all just waiting, ready for the crowds and some of the white stuff to come down. The snow blasters were being tested ready to top up the pistes snow levels. The piste map shows it s a big resort ⛷🏂⛷🏂

Wednesday 1st November and that was merger day Moneywise so Andy was staying close to his laptop and internet for the morning. He spent most of the time on the phone to John and others so I just pottered. Once all seemed calm and sorted we went to explore Orlu where there was a nature reserve. At the entrance to the main car park there was a 2metre warning for the barrier!! No worries we know it’s not high enough now 😂😂 There was a busy adventure area with high ropes, zip lines, climbing and bridges of all kinds to cross.
We walked up along the path to a waterfall. That was Andy sorted and he was happy clicking his camera.
On the way back we called into town and bought some bread and gorgeous almond tarts 😍
We had clouds the next morning, but it was still dry and not too cool. After breakfast we got packed up, paid the bill and decided to make an early start. Well 10:30am is early!! 😂
On Thursday 2nd November we head for Sitges 😍
