We arrived at the campsite ( http://www.loire-gites.com ) at 4pm and Stuart was there to welcome us. Right from the start we felt at home. Stu & Syb are the site owners and have been for 13years. Before that they lived in Doncaster!! The site has 10 caravan pitches and 3 gites making it a lovely relaxing place to stay.
On Saturday afternoon the pizza oven was fired up and we enjoyed a great evening, meeting new people and enjoying delicious homemade pizzas, garlic bread and ย drinking lots of red wine.
The weekend end of our stay happened to be the local Annual Apple Fair and this being the 46th we just had to give it a visit. Syb was volunteering on one of the stalls, selling apple beignets (donuts). They were gorgeous.
Breakfast in the sun each morning was great and usually quite late by the time we were up and about. Lazy days are the best and the October sunshine is just what we needed. The chickens loved the sunshine too ๐
We only had 3 nights here at Le Chant d’Oiseau and could have stayed longer but we will definitely return.
On Sunday 15th October we head to Surgeres, La Rochelle ๐๐
