The kids came to visit

The kids came to visit

Well one minute we were chilling in the caravan, reading quietly, snoozing whenever we wanted and getting up whenever we decided to ………….

Then wooooosh!! The kids came to visit!! Those little 4 year olds that have lots of energy, loud voices, giggles and screams, constantly hungry, especially for ice cream!!

But we were so happy to have them for a few days and wouldn’t want them any other way ………. Honest 😍😍

The first day was sunny and warm so off we went to the seaside. Redcar! Seaside? You may say. Yes and we had a wonderful day. Riding their bikes along the promenade for miles, only stopping to play in the fountains.

Then, when we finally managed to catch up with Archie, a coffee & ice cream stop was enough to recharge the batteries and away we went again. Back along the promenade with a visit to the lifeboat museum, the kids really enjoyed it and so did Nana & Grandad πŸ˜€

The bikes went back in the car and out came the buckets and spades. Castles built, shells collected, paddles in the sea and we had hot dogs for lunch when we realised the picnic had been left in the caravan! πŸ˜–πŸ˜¬πŸ˜©πŸ˜‚

We had a great afternoon on the beach. Fun in the sun with Archie & Aiva. How lucky we are 😍😍

We had a lazy Friday morning at the caravan site. LAZY? I don’t think so! Bike rides, play area fun, flying the kite, picking blackberries and ice creams too.
Then off to town (Stockton on Tees) to see the magic steam engine. Another long bike ride for Archie and Aviva decided to walk. The pathway goes all along the riverside.
At 1pm every day the steam engine rises from the crypt, whooshing steam and whistles tooting. We thought the kids would love it! Oh no they didn’t πŸ˜©πŸ˜‚ Too loud, too scary and too much steam πŸ˜©πŸ˜‚ Ahh well you can’t win them all πŸ˜€
Back to the caravan site and a treasure trail to complete. We managed it all and the kind wardens gave the kids their treasure.

On Saturday Grandad took Archie’s stabilisers off his bike, he was very wary at first but so quickly was off on his own πŸ‘πŸ‘ Well done Archie 😘😘

We went to see the canoeists on the Tees Barrage as it is just outside the caravan site. Archie and Grandad took some very good shots.

Then it was home time for the little darling and the little princess.
Not that they were in any hurry to leave though.
Memories made with fun and laughter along the way.
