As we are staying so close to Bishop Auckland and after seeing all the advertising on the Metro and around Newcastle we decided to go and see Kynren. This is an outdoor show so we had our fingers crossed that the rain would hold off for the evening.
We arranged to park in town and this included a shuttle bus out to the show area.
The show started at 9pm, quite late, but the evening darkness was required for effect, starting at sunset and ending in starlight it delivered just that.
We waited with anticipation for the show to begin and when it did we were not disappointed one bit. It was amazing.

The show tells the story of England from over the past 2000 years. It unfolds on a vast, open air stage with a full sized lake as its centre. More than 1000 volunteers bring the show to life. Then there are the horses, sheep, goats, geese, cattle and ducks.
We witnessed ships, steam engines, dance, combat, pyrotechnics, fire, lighting and water effects. The choreography and dance was wonderful with young children to adults taking part.

If you have the chance to witness this for yourself then take it, don’t miss it.
We had a wonderful evening of entertainment.
